First International Workshop on
SURROGATE MODELLING AND SPACE MAPPING
FOR ENGINEERING OPTIMIZATION

November 16 - 18, 2000, Technical University of Denmark

A three day workshop on surrogate modeling and space mapping will be held at the Technical University of Denmark in November 2000.  The focus is the design optimization of computationally expensive engineering devices and systems through fast, inexpensive surrogate models.

Workshop themes include:

  • Companion "coarse" and "fine" models of engineering devices.

  • The concept of Space Mapping optimization.

  • Artificial neural network modeling of devices and systems.

  • Engineering optimization through managed surrogates.

  • Surrogate models and surrogate approximations.

  • Approximation, interpolation and response surface methodologies.

  • Trust region methodologies for robust algorithms.

  • Issues of model parameter extraction.

  • Practical applications in engineering design problems.

  • Numerical experiments and results.

  • Design with tolerances and yield-driven design.
